Japanese Sword Display Cases Installation
Transformed a client's wall with Japanese sword display cases, providing stability and elegant lighting.
For this project, our client entrusted us with the task of installing four display cases to showcase their collection of Japanese swords. The client provided both the French cleats for mounting and the display cases. However, upon arrival, we noticed that the cases were somewhat fragile. Given the valuable nature of the items to be displayed, the client requested extra reinforcement.
To ensure stability, we added two wooden strips to the back of each case, one at the top and one at the bottom. This provided a solid mounting surface for the French cleats. The client also wanted spotlighting inside each case, so we installed four lights at the top after pre-drilling the cases to accommodate the wiring.
Once the electrical work was complete, we concealed all wires behind the cases for a clean look. With all preparations in place, we measured and mounted the second part of the French cleat on the wall. To maintain symmetry, we positioned the cases 10 inches from the corners. We also used a wiring channel to neatly hide all cables.
As a final touch, the client decided to hang a picture frame in the center of the display. The result left our client thrilled, and we're open to the possibility of adding more lighting to the display cases in the future.
